We have been working at Allesley Park (together with the Parks Agency, for Coventry City Parks Department) since 2012. We began by preparing a conservation statement and vision document for restoration and use of the grade II listed walled kitchen garden. After successful funding bids, the new path system is being laid out together with planting of an orchard of fruit and nut trees. In 2018 we began work on a new entrance and a strategy that would help visitors find their way round the park, interpret its history, and provide a safe pedestrian crossing. The design of the gate is a flat abstraction of vermiculated stone piers, waterjet-cut from stainless steel, in this part of the project we are working with Entuitive engineers.
